SBCG-P (Secure Staking, Slick Side, Black Nitride)
The SBCG-P is the black nitrided counterpart to our NP3 SBCG—identical in design and function, with a more production-friendly coating. Same performance, same specs, just nitride instead of NP3.
We start with proven USGI-spec M16 carriers and improve where it actually matters: staking, materials, and QC. No gimmicks.
Key Features
- Secure Staking (OCKS): Uses Ned Christiansen’s Optimized Carrier Key Screws for dramatically higher resistance to loosening. Properly torqued and aggressively staked for maximum reliability.
- Slick Side Design: Serrated/dimpled carrier aids closing an out-of-battery bolt on uppers without a forward assist, while remaining fully compatible with forward-assist uppers.
- Conventional Gas Key: Separate gas key for real-world serviceability. If it gets damaged, it can be replaced—unlike one-piece carriers.
- Black Nitride Finish: Durable, corrosion-resistant, and easy to clean.
Materials & Specs
- Carrier: AISI 8620 steel, USGI spec
- Bolt: AISI 9310 steel, properly heat treated
- Bolt is shot-peened, stress relieved, and MPI tested
- Sprinco 5-coil heavy extractor spring with black insert/O-ring
- Indexed, dimpled cam pin
- Gas key torqued to spec and staked with OCKS
QC
Every SBCG is individually inspected, staking verified, firing pin protrusion checked, and test fired. Ships lightly lubed and test-fired.
